Believe It Or Not

My first encounter with UFO's was 1960 or '61. It took place at a summer camp I had attended through the Detroit Urban League. The years are given like that because I can't exactly remember the year...the only thing that is for certain is that I was not twelve because I was in the cabin next to that age group. It was a co-ed camp. The males were seperated from the female quarters by a creek. The camp was named Camp Green Pastures and was located in Michigan near either Grass Lake or Portage Lake.

Every day we would be awakened not long after dawn to start our daily activities. First thing daily was to engage in PT in a large field behind the cabins. The field was bordered by trees and shrubs. The incident took place near the end of the camp stay. As everyone scrambled to get into the field I was the first to see them and yelled out and pointed to three silver disc shaped craft which were motionless and had no sound. They were about two stories off the ground in a corner of the field. The camp counselors began giving orders for everyone to get back into the cabins. My counselors name was either Shelton or Sheldon. He was near me and a small kid asked him "what were those things". His reply to the kid was that they were "flowers that were being blown from the trees". I looked at him and asked why he told that kid that and that they "were not flowers". He just said "get into the cabin".

What else was odd about the experience was that the kids were really quiet as if they were in shock or something...no one talked about it much. When I got home I told my grandmother about it and she told me I had an overactive imagination and over time I partially accepted her comment. Then in 1999 I was listening to the Art Bell radio show because there was much ado about Y2K at the time. A female caller got on line and talked about an experience she had at the same summer camp and she described the same experience the only difference was that I was closer to them than she was. I was stunned and excited all at the same time, so much so that I failed to catch her name but was relieved to know that my experience was truly real.

I have had other experiences since then but will relate them in forthcoming blogs. We are not alone!!
